Artist talks- Liv Wynter

Liv is a writer who performs her poems about the body neglecting sexist and homophobic humour. She make films of collaged snippets of social media funny bits which she assembles together to make a sort of comedy sketch- she uses his as her inspiration.

Her poems are performed in a sort of lyrical rap style but without the abusive stereotypes that come with it. She showed us a film of a rap battle she was involved in where her opponent was atypical street rapper who insulted her.

Her poem ‘Body apologies’ is about her body and her being at war one another and the pain she puts it through. She writes about wanting to accept the gentle feel.
