Pablo Picasso- Girl with a Mandolin 1910
This painting influences me to try alternative techniques of perspective. Picasso wanted to emphasize the two-dimensionality of the canvas, he split objects into geometric forms, breaking the subject down into squares, rectangles, and other geometric shapes. This technique allows various parts of the figures form to be portrayed that would usually not be seen from one point of view. Picasso used a dulled and muted colour palette to unify the surfaces.
